Perfect lock for Kemea Reytec Yamaha vd Laar
After the final GP in Lierop and the final test of the Belgian Championship last week in Mont Saint Guibert, the last test for the ONK was held last weekend. As with the previous matches, this very last match was also a real success for the team.
Freek van der Vlist was able to win the title in the 125cc class. He successfully did what was expected of him and won both heats. With this double victory he gives the title some extra shine. Behind him, Cyril Genot was second on the podium. Cyril came second and third in the competitions and continues to perform extremely well in his first competitions on the 125cc bike. With both 125cc machines tuned by van de Laar on the podium and the title, the season in this class could not have ended better.
In the MX2 class, Petar Petrov surprised friend and foe by taking the holeshot in the first moto. He immediately found a good pace and rode a great race. He led the entire series until problems with the rear brake surfaced a few laps before the end. Petar no longer had a rear brake and had to drop the pace. Ultimately he lost the leading position, but Petar still finished second.
Kevin crashed at the start and was only able to resume the race in the very last position. Fors had to chase and quickly made his way to the front. He finished in 12th place.
Another good start for Petar in the second series. He started fourth and ended up in second place on the third lap. When leader Coldenhoff had to retire after six laps with technical problems, Petar took over the lead. He never relinquished this position and ended the season with a resounding series victory, also good for the final victory. Kevin crossed the line in 1th place after 10 lap. Kevin also found a good rhythm and quickly moved into the top 5. Halfway through, Kevin was in fourth place where he eventually finished. In the final standings, Kevin finished fifth due to his strong second heat.
In the final standings of the ONK, Petar makes up one place and finishes in third place after Jeffrey Herlings and Glenn Coldenhoff. Kevin ends the Dutch championship in sixth place.
Marnicq Bervoets: ' The end of the season can be called a real success. Here in Lichtenvoorde we can end 2013 with many positives, which will give us a boost for next year. Petar rode very strongly, I didn't know what happened when he took the holeshot. The victory was a perfect reward for the hard work. Kevin also rode strongly with a fourth place in the second series. Freek showed that he did not steal the title and Cyril also continues to impress. On to 2014 I would say!'
Petar Petrov: ' A great way to end the season! It was really nice to get another win. I had also almost forgotten the feeling of a holeshot and that felt oh so good. Fortunately, after the braking problems in the first moto, I was able to finish second. I'm already looking forward to next season.'
Kevin Fors: 'I felt good on the track. Too bad about that fall in the first moto. The second series went really well and I am happy with fourth place. An ideal way to go into winter with confidence.'
Freek van der Vlist: ' A great weekend for me! I was lucky with the red flag in the first moto. The fuel vent hose was clogged and the engine had stopped. Fortunately, everything was fine again at the restart and I was able to win the race. Everything also went well in the second heat. I am very happy that I have won the title and would like to thank everyone who helped me with this.'
Cyril Genot: 'I again did not expect second place here. I felt good on the track and had a few places on the circuit where I could make up a lot of time on the rest. However, in the first heat I had gone deep enough to take second place. I was completely devastated in the second heat and I never thought I would finish third. I would like to thank everyone who helped me this year. Especially my parents, my sister and the KEMEA team. Also my personal sponsors, mainly UFO and Pierrot. Now it's time to prepare for next year. I will do everything I can to perform strongly again next year. But in the meantime there is also school where I will also have to invest the necessary time. So it won't be a quiet winter!'
