Preview Masters of MotoX Orp-Le-Grand: 1/09
There is normally a mass return to school on September 1. The return to the most beautiful 'old school' track in the country is on the program for the 4th round of the Belgian Masters of Motox! The picturesque Walloon Brabant village will receive the GP toppers next Sunday in a very special setting. The combination of natural elements, the spectacular, technical section along the hillside and over the small Gete combined with successful modern influences make this circuit unique in the world.
The 'little Citadel' can expect a lot of interest from top pilots. In addition to Belgian Masters of Moto-X leader Ken Dycker (Red Bull KTM), are also coming Kevin Strijbos (Rockstar Energy Suzuki), Evgeny Bobryshev (Honda World Motocross), Jeremy Van Horebeek (Kawasaki Racing Team), Shaun Simpson (JK Racing Gebben Yamaha), Tanel Leok (TM Racing), Jake Nicholls (Wilvo Negaan JM Racing KTM), Romain Febvre (Wilvo Negaan JM Racing KTM) and Jeremy Delince (MB Raving Yamaha) at the start.
Prestige duel between Keeno, Strijbos and The Jerre!
Reigning Belgian champion De Dycker dominated the two first rounds of the Radson MX1 Trophy, but had to give up on both Jeffrey Herlings and Kevin Strijbos in Balen. In Orp-Le-Grand, however, the 'Bear from Lubbeek' could already mathematically secure the title. Since 8 meager points is enough for Ken, 'would' is even very cautious in this context. Ex-Belgian champion Simpson, second in the standings, is showing his most regular side this season. The sympathetic Scot has a four-point lead over Jeremy Van Horebeek in the standings. Van Horebeek is growing into his very best form and continues to surprise friend and foe in his first MX1 season. It would not surprise us that 'The Jerre' is now resolutely going for victory after his second place in Kester! With Strijbos and Bobryshev (both on the podium last weekend during the English GP) the pace will be high again.
Add to that the driven youngsters Jake Nicholls, Petar Petrov, Romain Febvre and the club riders Jérémy Delincé en Yerki January and you get an incredibly interesting mix. But in the Belgian Masters of Moto-X you always have to watch out for the experienced! Including Tanel Leok and Marc De Reuver (BT Honda). Leok, the Belgian vice-champion of 2012, has already won twice at the Kleine Gete. The Estonian Express went through a difficult season, but Leok remains a feared outsider. The same can be said of the West Flemish trio Steve Ramon, Marvin Van Daele and Manuel Priem.
Monster Energy MX2 Trophy: Graulus towards title?
Standing Construct KTM rider Damon Graulus will do everything he can to keep the MX2 title within the team, after the success of Jens Getteman last year. Graulus was able to gain inspiration in Balen next to stablemate and World Cup winner Glenn Coldenhoff. In the Monster Energy MX2 Trophy standings, 18-year-old Graulus is now 23 points ahead of the Swede Jesper Jonsson (Vamo Suzuki). The strong Dietger Damiaens is not only having his best national campaign at national level, he still has a prospect of second place in the final standings. Moreover, Dietger already rode his KTM to a podium place on the Keiheuvel!
Of course, the Monster Energy MX2 Trophy wouldn't live up to its name if there weren't even more privateers on the coast. We think of Dylan Verleysen, André Park, Axel Vandesande and the fast foreigners Radomir Harbich and Peter Irt.
