A brand new 2-stroke championship in 2014.
In Geneva there was not only discussion about the future of the Motocross World Championship, but also about its flow and preparation for the future. For example, Youthstream, the FIM and FIM Europe (former UEM) have decided to create a European Championship 300cc 2-stroke. All parties are convinced of the success of this championship and it will be used as a basis for the future World Cup. The 2-stroke market has risen again in recent years and many brands, especially European brands, are investing in a good 2-stroke machine. Youthstream's plan is to have between 6 and 7 races during an MXGP weekend. A high number of registrations is expected since the MX3 will no longer be there next year. The capacity of the engine will be between 200 and 300cc and it must be a 2-stroke.
In any case, we are already looking forward to it and hope to see boys like Junior Slegers in this championship. Boys who are in love with a 2-stroke and can ride it fast too.
