Steve Ramon says goodbye to Buildbase Honda
Steve Ramon and the British Buildbase Honda team will part ways.
In a press release late HondaUK know that Steve Ramon and the Buildbase Hondateam have put an end to their collaboration. The Belgian former world champion leaves the team in consultation with team manager Dave Thorpe. The communiqué further mentions the fact that “despite reasonable performance in both... Maxxis British Motocross Championship as in the Red Bull Pro Nationals, the results expected by both Thorpe and Ramon themselves were not achieved.” The Buildbase Honda team will now continue the season with Nicolas Aubin as the only rider, but in the meantime they are looking for a replacement for Ramon.
Buildbase Honda Team Manager Dave Thorpe"I have the utmost respect for Steve Ramon as a motocross rider. Steve's professionalism is what you would expect from someone who has achieved the highest attainable in motocross. Steve's task of competing in a new team, on a new bike and in a different country was always going to be difficult. We all did our best and committed ourselves 100%. But now that the season is almost half way, we had no choice but to make this regrettable decision. I wish Steve all the best for the future."
