Herlings and Simpson win ONK in Rhenen
On Ascension Day, the ONK in Rhenen is traditionally on the calendar in the Netherlands. On the beautiful circuit today the winners were Jeffrey Herlings in the MX2 class and Shaun Simpson in the MX1 class.
Herlings was again the strongest in both heats and also remains undefeated in the ONK. Standing Construct KTM rider Glenn Coldenhoff finished second twice and Wilvo Negaan JM rider Jake Nicholls finished third in both heats. Damon Graulus became the best Belgian in the final standings with sixth place. He finished sixth and seventh. Kevin Fors finished seventh in the final standings.

In the MX1 class, Marc de Reuver dropped out during training after coming into heavy contact with another rider. Marc broke his collarbone and therefore had to go to hospital. Shaun Simpson took advantage of this and won the match in Rhenen. Simpson had to leave Leok in the first round, but took the lead from Leok on the last lap of the final round to take the overall victory. Leok finished second in the final standings with equal points and Mike Kras was third on the podium with two third places. Evgeny Bobryshev took it easy today and finished seventh in both heats.

In the 125cc class the day's victory went to Kemea Reytec van de Laar Yamaha rider Freek van de Vlist. Van der Vlist won the first heat and only needed second place in the final heat to secure the day's victory. Calvin Vlaanderen, who won the second heat, finished second in the final standings and Joel van Mechelen finished third.

Cyril Genot finished fourth in the final standings of the 85cc class. The Kemea rider finished fourth in both heats and therefore just missed the podium. Genot remains second, but sees the gap to the leader increasing. Conrad Mewse again won both rounds and remains undefeated so far. KTM rider Jorge Prado finished second and our compatriot Jago Geerts finished third with two third places in both heats.
