Gert Krestinov wins MX3 GP in Valkenswaard
In Valkenswaard in the Netherlands we also had the opening test for the MX3 world championship. The defending champion in this MX3 class is the Austrian Matthias Walkner. Last year we had a Belgian Grand Prix victory at the Eurocircuit with Kevin Wouts. Unfortunately, Wouts was injured during Qualifying and had to pass for the GP.
For our northern neighbors, all eyes were on Mike Kras. In the first series Kras made it a nice start-finish victory. He took the victory ahead of Gert Krestinov and Filip Neugebauer. But in the second series he had to recognize the superior in Neugebauer and series winner Gert Krestinov and, exhausted, he crossed the finish line in third place.
Reigning world champion Matthias Walkner also did not perform well in Valkenswaard and did not get further than fourteenth and seventh place in the series.
The Grand Prix victory went to the Estonian Gert Krestinov, who took his second GP victory of his career. In 2008, Krestinov already won the Belgian MX2 Grand Prix in Lommel.
