Frossard and Ferris look ahead to Italian Grand Prix…
Monster Energy Yamaha rider Steven Frossard will start again next weekend in the Italian Grand Prix. After his test ride last Wednesday, the Frenchman seems to have recovered sufficiently from his broken metatarsal bone that he suffered during motorcycle training.
Dean Ferris is also improving and took advantage of the two weeks of rest to allow his operated collarbone to recover.
The 2011 MX1 vice-world champion received a pin in the foot to stabilize it somewhat. This intervention happened the day after the Dutch Grand Prix. Frossard was laid off for a while, but felt comfortable enough to get back on the bike on Wednesday.
Steve Frossard: The operation went very well and I quickly regained good feeling in my foot. So I was hopeful to travel to Italy and very excited to ride the bike with a special modification to my motocross boot. From the first moment I drove around the circuit I immediately knew that I could drive on the weekend. I can't say yet what my goal will be, but I do want to move my season in the right direction.
Dean Ferris also rode back on his YZ250 this week and wants to get back into the MX2 class in Arco di Trento. The Australian immediately opened fantastically and took a podium place in the opening match of the World Cup in Qatar.
