The Dycker dominates in Mons
At around five to twelve, how symbolic, the Belgian Masters of Motocross (BMMX) got underway with the qualifying round. The “Pirelli Holeshot Award” was handed out for the first time and this was in Mons for Kevin Strijbos, who took the holeshot ahead of Evgeny Bobryshev, Ken De Dycker and Jeremy Delincé.
And even though this qualifying heat was only about the starting order, we still got to see Bobryshev who put quite a bit of pressure on Kevin Strijbos and this with results because just after halfway through the race the man from Wuustwezel dropped out of the race. The Russian Evgeny Bobryshev was able to take over the lead and he did not relinquish it, Ken de Dycker came in a distant second and Jeremy Delincé came in third. Jeremy Van Horebeek, who started poorly, fought back from deep in the pack to fourth place.
Series 1
At the start of series 1, everyone is present again and it is Evgeny Bobryshev who takes the holeshot ahead of Ken De Dycker and Kevin Strijbos. But the man in form Ken De Dycker is not satisfied with second place and quickly takes the lead from the Russian. Evgeny Bobryshev, in turn, does everything in his power and keeps the pressure on Ken De Dycker throughout the race, but he does not back down and wins his first “Belgian Masters of Motocross” race of the season. Evgeny Bobryshev comes in second at a close distance and Kevin Strijbos, who managed to keep his distance throughout the race, finishes third ahead of Jeremy Van Horebeek, Shaun Simpson and a well-driving Jeremy Delincé.
Series 2
In the 2nd series of Inters Open, “BMMX”, Ken De Dycker was the first to get through the first round and that would have told almost everything had it not been for the fact that some doubled players also had their say. As a result, Keeno lost almost all his lead over second man Kevin Strijbos a few laps from the end and so we still got a very exciting ending. But Ken De Dycker showed himself to be the strongest and immediately took the double, final victory in Mons plus the lead in the “Belgian Masters of Motocross”.
Evgeny Bobryshev had a mediocre start and had to work his way back to the front and squeezed into third place ahead of Jeremy Van Horebeek. Shaun Simpson again finished fifth ahead of an impressive Jeremy Delincé who made it more than difficult for Shaun Simpson.
