Team presentation: Wilvo Negaan JM Racing Team
Last Thursday we were guests in Zandhoven at the presentation of the Wilvo Negaan JM Racing Team of former world champion Jacky Martens. The team will start in 2013 with four riders. Jake Nicholls, Romain Febvre, Pauls Jonass and Stephanie Stoutjesdijk will therefore ride in the colors of the Wilvo Negaan JM Racing Team in various classes.
The main target is of course the MX2 where the Englishman Jake Nicholls and the Frenchman Romain Febvre will compete. Jake Nicholls finished fourth last season. For this season, Jake will receive factory support from KTM and is certainly expected to finish in the top three in the final standings of the World Championship. Young talent Romain Febvre is expected to make a breakthrough this year and they are also quietly hoping for a top five place.
In the European Championship 125cc the team uses Pauls Jonass. The rider, who comes from Latvia, finished fifth in the 125cc European Championship last season. And also took third place at the Junior 125cc World Championship. Here too, the team expects to achieve a top three place with Pauls Jonass.
For the first time in the existence of the Jacky Martens team, we also have a female pilot joining the team. The barely 15-year-old Stephanie Stoutjesdijk will compete in the WMX World Championship. Stephanie took her first World Cup points in Valkenswaard last season and finished the season in 21st place.
The Wilvo Negaan JM Racing Team, led by Jacky Martens, has been a fixture in the paddock for many years. The entire team works well together and expectations within the team are high. The pilots and the resources are certainly there within this well-organized team, why not, I would say...
