Herlings stunned! Cairoli & Charlier champion!
The third and final round of the Assoluti d'Italia was held today in Arco Di Trento. As expected, Antion Cairoli took victory in the MX1 and became Italian champion. In the first round, the five-time world champion was ahead of Steven Frossard, Evgeny Bobryshev, Ken De Dycker, David Philippaerts and Joël Roelants. Teammate De Dycker is second in the final championship standings.

However, the man of the day was Jeffrey Herlings! Herlings beat Charlier for almost 2 seconds in the MX30 round. Tixier, Lupino and Kullas completed the top five. Charlier can show off the Italian MX2 title, Kullas became vice champion. In the mixed Superfinal, Herlings defeated the MX250 guns on the 1. Frossard and De Dycker finished second and third. For Cairoli the day ended on a negative note. Tony had built up a comfortable lead when he crashed while doubling behind and had to abandon the race with a bent gear lever.
