Strijbos and Coldenhoff up in Mantova!
It wasn't just a beautiful, sunny day for MX enthusiasts in Mantova. The Lombardy classic immediately became a highlight for lowlanders! After the one-on-one, Kevin Strijbos (Rockstar-Suzuki) actually scored a flawless hat trick in the MX1 with three series victories. Just like he had done in 2009 when he played for the Italian Honda-Martin. The regular Honda duo Evgeny Bobryshev (11-3-2) and Tanel Leok (6-2-6) were on the podium.
In MX2, Glen Coldenhoff did not miss his debut on the Standing Construct-KTM. Only in the second round did Glenn lose the victory to Romain Febvre (Nestan-JM Racing), the surprising Jeremy Seewer finished second in the final standings. Like every year there are also unfortunate people in Mantova. In the last heat there was a crash early in the race for Max Nagl and Clément Desalle. Desalle seemed to have recovered well, but after Nagl himself got up he was taken to the ambulance and hospital in a stretcher. Rui Goncalves and Julien Lieber had to leave in the first heat. Lieber got his tooth through his lip, finished the heat but then had to go to the sickbay. Rui Goncalves hurt his hand in a crash and decided to have this investigated immediately.
