Herlings not a talent of the year – Update Video
Yesterday and Tuesday the annual sports prizes were handed out in the Netherlands. We were looking forward to a possible award for MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings, who could count on a nomination in the “Talent of the Year” category. The Brabander was opposed in that category by heptathlete Tim Dekker and BMX star Laura Smulders. But unfortunately for The Bullet there was bad news because Laura Smulders, bronze medal winner at the London Olympic Games, was preferred and Jeffrey Herlings missed out on the “Young Talent Award” for the second year in a row.
The fact that the young man from Elsendorp was extremely disappointed by this was evident from the two tweets he sent into the world during the gala.
Didn't know that 1Rondje was ranked just as highly as 16GPs and becoming World Champion would then take 3rd place. #unfair #tweetvanyesterday #NL

But all hope is not yet lost because Jeffrey Herling's world title is in the running for “Sports Moment of the Year 2012” and this will be determined by internet voting! So click quickly this link and help us ensure that the NOS and the NOC-NSF notice that motocross is indeed worth an award!
