ASX: Round 2 at Phillip Island
Last weekend, not only MotoGP was held in Phillip Island, but also the second round of the Australian Supercross championship. The combined event was an immediate success. There was also the fact that the promoter's Facebook campaign to which more than 10000 people had responded also put Chad Reed at the start.
And in front of Valentino Rossi, among others, Chad Reed won the race on Phillip Island. The “Thunder from Down Under” was just ahead of reigning champion and current leader Jay Marmont. Daniel McCoy finished third in three seconds, old acquaintance Ben Townley managed to reach the finish this week and did so in a solid seventh place. Billy Mackenzie crossed the finish line in tenth place.
In the Lites it was once again the American Gavin Faith who controlled the main event. Does this name ring a bell? That is quite possible, as Faith has already made several substitute appearances for Geico Honda and Joe Gibbs Racing, sometimes with more than good results. So it was no surprise that the young man stayed ahead of Geran Stapleton and Ryan Marmont. Afterwards there was some discussion about the starting line that Gavin Faith took.
