Jefrrrrrrey Herlings steals the show!!!!!
No one else can do the way 'Kiske den Omroeper' squeezes it out of his throat. But Jeffrey Herlings delivered an exceptional performance in front of his own audience. From 39th place he completed the entire field in just over 2 minutes! A very strong Glenn Coldenhoff led almost the entire heat. With a second place, Glenn completed his best qualifying race ever. Zach Osborne finished third.
Things already went wrong for 'The Bullit' in the third corner after he took the holeshot. Jeremy Van Horebeek also crashed. Coldenhhoff took advantage and took the lead in front of his own audience. Up until a certain point, the Negaan-JM Racing KTM rider even managed to create a lead of 12 seconds. Tonus was second for a long time until he had to let Osborne in front at the halfway point. The big spectacle, however, came from Herlings who rushed through the suit like a man possessed. Just before the final lap, Herlings came within 15 meters of Coldenhoff and his compatriot also had to be killed. The large crowd - very busy for Saturday - thoroughly enjoyed it. As sad as it was for Coldenhoff to see the victory slip through his fingers, Glenn did set the fastest lap of the race! Van Horebeek came back to 6th after his early crash.
Title candidate Tommy Searle fell far short of expectations with a mediocre 8th place. Guest driver Ceriel Klein Kromhof will be 14th at the starting gate tomorrow. TM factory rider Nick Kouwenberg qualified 17th. Belgian Wildcard rider Jeffrey Dewulf finished 20th. Jens Getteman hurt his shoulder in the morning, unfortunately we no longer see the leader in the Belgian Championship in action.
