Thain-Neefs and Soyeurt win 33rd La Chinelle!
Rodrig Thain and his teammates Sebastian Soyeurt and Gregory Neefs won the 33rd edition of the Chinelle this weekend. The Frenchman and the two local heroes set the best time in qualifying, and they also won the first part of the race from Saturday night to Sunday (see our article). The trio then finished the job by driving to victory on Sunday afternoon.
Although the factory HM Honda rider Thain was well supported by Soyeurt (winner in 2006) and Neefs, he was the star of this La Chinelle. However, in the second part of six hours, Cédric Cremer recorded the fastest lap. And that on a KTM 250 EXC. Cremer and his Dutch teammates Advokaat and Wassink finished 5th in the final standings. The trio PAtrick Caps-Cédric Melotte and Eric Hubin came second ahead of the fast AMPL men Vincent Grandjean, Steve Piret and Bryan Boulard. Wim Vanderheyden did it alongside an international Husberg team with Hans Vogels and the Swiss Christian Robert. They finished third after a steady second half, but lost far too much time at night due to problems with the lighting and a broken mouse at the back.
