The Dycker best mud devil in Orp Le Grand
Ken de Dycker is heading full speed towards the Belgian title. After his resounding victory on the Keiheuvel, Keeno was now also the best in Orp le Grand. In the first moto the KTM rider still had to let Shaun Simpson win, but he put things in order in the next two motos. Tanel Leok and Shaun Simpson were allowed on stage.
Jurgen van Nooten took the best start in the first moto ahead of Bobryshev and Simpson. Van Nooten could not hold on to his leading position for long and had to let the factory riders go ahead. Bobryshev tried to open a gap but a strong Simpson overtook the Russian and in turn opened a gap. The Honda rider made several mistakes and this allowed the KTM riders Van Horebeek and De Dycker to advance to second and third place. Simpson held on and won the series ahead of De Dycker and Van Horebeek. Steve Ramon finished seventh.
Just before the start of the second heat, the heavens opened above Orp. The rain was pouring down, but that didn't bother Ken de Dycker. He took the holeshot and had Tanel Leok on his wheel. Leok was able to hold on for a while but eventually had to let the KTM rider go. Guarneri finished third ahead of Bobryshev and Marvin van Daele.
In the third heat it was again Dycker who led from start to finish. This time he was unable to open a gap and Bobryshev and Leok finished close to Ken's wheel. Shaun Simpson finished a distant fourth and secured his podium place.
In the standings of the Belgian championship, De Dycker increases his lead over Leok. De Dycker leads with 264 points, followed by Leok with 225 points and the Italian Davide Guarneri (KTM) with 183 points.
The last test of the Belgian championship will take place on September 16 in Orp Le Grand.
