KTM makes history in the US Nationals…
Roger De Coster's Red Bull/KTM Team wrote history on American soil last weekend. This all happened on the beautiful Unadilla circuit. Ken Roczen managed to take a series victory for the first time in the Nationals. Marvin Musquin, on the other hand, took his very first overall victory in the US in Unadilla. In the 450 class, Ryan Dungey took the overall victory with two series victories, but also won the very first 450 Motocross title for the Red Bull/KTM Team…
Below you can read some reactions after this historic weekend from KTM…
Ken Roczen: I am happy with my series victory in Unadilla. I worked really hard and was very close a few times this season. It's a really great feeling to be able to finish it and celebrate with my teammate.
Marvin Musquin: I was very nervous in the last lap. I knew if I rode within the top three I could take the win, but it was still a very exciting last lap. I was so happy when I crossed the finish line. I would really like to thank the whole team, especially my mechanic Frankie for their hard work. It's a great feeling to take the overall win on the same weekend as Ryan Dungey took the title. We have a lot to celebrate with the team and I'm happy to be part of it.
Ryan Dungey: It's been a great year with the Red Bull/KTM Team. I am so happy to have won this championship and am so grateful to all the people of the Red Bull/KTM Team and of course to my family who helped me get here today. When I joined the KTM team in October, Roger told me we were going for the title and I believed him. And it also came out today.
Team Manager Roger DeCoster: The team and Ryan have worked hard this season. We have seen him achieve success in Supercross, then suffer an injury and then come back even stronger. This is a very big moment for the KTM Team and Ryan. We are very proud of him and look forward to riding with the number one plate in the last two races.
