Presentation International Motocross Eernegem 2012
It had been several decades since a BMB motocross competition was organized in the province of West Flanders. The BMB federation is the only motocross federation that is responsible for the national championship, which means that the world's top riders are also affiliated with this federation. The idea therefore matured to set up the first West Flemish organization in 2010. The Eernegem circuit, with its sandy surface, was the ideal location to build a circuit. The first edition attracted a massive number of spectators, with no fewer than seven nationalities appearing at the start. In 2011 no suitable date was found, but in 2012 the Eernegem race reappeared on the BMB calendar. On Friday, July 27, the traditional evening motocross will be held in West Flanders
2. Organization
The Mc.Mikkola team has been active in motocross for 20 years. First at amateur level and six years ago the step was taken to the BMB federation, where the team also managed to win several national titles. The club also organizes a race on the Lommel World Championship circuit, but also wanted to have a race close to home. That is why the Eernegem match came like a gift from heaven.
3. Program
No fewer than 10 categories will be at the start in Eernegem. The program starts with the youth riders of the 85 cc class, after which all adult series will start. Timed training sessions are held in the morning and each class runs two heats in the afternoon. As an extra, the organization was rewarded with a trial for the open Belgian Championship for quads, which will bring a number of European top riders from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands to Eernegem. All series run for BC points and the race also counts towards the Flemish Championship. The International will compete for the lucrative Challenger Cup. The next national series will also start.

6. Circuit
The circuit is being built completely from scratch and is 1600 meters long. The surface is quite sandy and approximately eight jumps will be constructed so that the spectacle will certainly be present. The space to prepare the circuit is approximately 5.5 hectares.
