Team USA: Dungey, Baggett and Barcia?
Roger De Coster turned the MX world upside down in 1981 by unexpectedly winning the Motocross des Nations in Lommel with the American team. More than 20 years later, Team USA would like to repeat that stunt.
The underdog of thirty years ago is no more. In fact, the Americans have dominated the Nations for quite some time. It has been since 2004 that another country won. Belgium then took the gold in Lierop. Although the American team will not be announced until Unadilla on August 18, it appears that Team USA will field Ryan Dungey, Justin Barcia and Blake Baggett. Dungey has won three times since his MXoN debut in 2009, Baggett won last year. It would be the first time for Justin 'BamBam' Barcia.
