Red Bud : Dungey and Baggett continue to dominate
The second part of the championship also started in the states this weekend. However, there were no major twists on the legendary Red Bud circuit. The victories went to Ryan Dungey and Blake Baggett, who both increased their lead in the championship with a double series victory.
In the 450 class, Dungey took the win ahead of Justin Brayton and the returning James Stewart. Tyla Rattray, who also returned from injury, finished fourth in the final standings.
In the championship standings, Dungey leads with 286 points, Alessi follows in second with 214p and Jake Weimer is third with 202 points.
In the Lites class we again saw a lot of spectacle. Baggett is simply extremely strong and nothing or no one can stand in his way. Barcia tried to provide some resistance in both heats but was unable to stop the Pro Circuit rider. Baggett thus won ahead of Barcia and Tomac. Marvin Musquin rode two strong races and finished fourth, ahead of Ken Roczen, who missed the podium for the first time this season.
In the Lites standings, Baggett is now 19 points ahead of Barcia and 36 ahead of Tomac. Roczen falls back to fourth place, 1 point behind Tomac.
