First Fed Cup for… Steve Seronval!
This weekend we were guests in Tielt for the first FAM Federation Cup where MCLB, VBM and AMPL met. The youth were able to complete their matches under nice conditions on Saturday. The Fed Cup pilots had to brave a few showers, although the square was quite passable overall. The first holeshot was for Honda rider Seronval who quickly took several seconds on Torpjurn Van Hoe and Jurgen Wybo. After which the rest of the story can be guessed; We did not see Seronval again. But what was happening behind Steve wasn't very exciting either. Wybo and Torpie remained at 2 respectivelye in 3. e place, Neal Deconnick was the first B rider on four and Kenny Dult closed the top 5 for the first series.
However, there was more tension in the second series thanks to the holeshot of the new dad Jurgen Wybo. Now it was up to Seronval to hunt for the leader. Torpie was on three Kenny Dult and Weigert followed. Woby kept the tension going for 12 minutes. But when Seronval passed the Kawasaki rider, the winner was known. Seronval's pursuers also remained in place. In the middle of the match there was a nice duel between Ziggy Lannoo and Michael de Keyzer. Unfortunately, both of these fighters fell, fortunately without much damage and they were both able to continue their match. At the Inters MX2, Frederik Daenen won ahead of Neal Deconinck and Jeroen Nijs.
