Preview Radson Trophy BK Inters Open – Mons
This Sunday, May 27, the Inters Open Radson Trophy, or the BK Motocross, will start in Mons. After the earlier postponement of the opening race in Mons and the cancellation of MC Scheldeland in Wichelen, the Royal Mons Auto Moto Club will still get the scoop and, just like last year, they will be able to launch the 2012 Belgian Motocross Championship!
The Motorcross Championships will have a slightly different look this year, as three full-fledged heats of 25 minutes plus one lap will once again be completed! As usual, the opening match for the Belgian title can look forward to an interesting and very international field of participants. The full list of participants can be found here.
Ken Dycker, Belgian vice-champion last year and winner in Mons starts as the big favourite. The Red Bull-KTM rider had a strong start to the season in the World Championship and found something to his liking in the sandy 'Bois Brûlé'. However, there will be no shortage of fast sand riders in Hainaut. The Estonian Tanel Leok (Rockstar Energy-Suzuki) and the Italian David Guarneri (Silver Action-KTM) are also two potential podium candidates. After two consecutive long races in Mexico and Brazil, the key question is whether the GP riders have completely digested these efforts and the tiring travels.
If one of the key figures makes a mistake, one of the sub-toppers is guaranteed to step up to take advantage! One of them is BeTeMo rider Yentel martens. The Limburger is without a doubt the man in shape. After all, the son of former world champion Jacky Martens only won the Belgian Nationals in Lommel and Axel. More young violence comes from Jeremy Delince (RB-Yamaha) and the MX3 GP winner in Valkenswaard Kevin Wouts (Pfeil-Kawasaki). For the young Dutch Roy Gijsel en Michael VanWezel sand is the favorite surface. And we should certainly not forget the established values and outsiders: Marvin Van Daele, fifth in the final standings of the Belgian Championship last year, Manuel Priem, Kristof Salaets, Steven Engelen, Jurgen Van Nooten, Yerki Janvier en David Cools do not forget!
