EWC: France rules in the Spanish Basque Country
The 2012 World Enduro Championship is starting to look more and more like a second French championship. There may be fewer French riders starting and the majority of the race may take place outside France, but in the end the French are always on the highest stage.
E1: The Meo Show
Six competition days and as many victories for Antoine Meo, that is the balance of the first three GPs in the E1 class. KTM made a golden move by stealing Meo from Husqvarna. Marc Bourgeois was on the podium on Saturday, just like Meo's teammate Eero Remes. On Sunday it was the Italians Simone Albergoni (HM Honda) and Thomas Oldrati (Bordone Ferrari) who flanked Meo.

E2: the rise of Pierre-Alexandre Renet
Things did not go well for Pierre-Alexandre Renet in South America. Only on the second day in Chile was the Husaberg rider able to impress with a class win. But in the Spanish Basque Country, Renet left its mark on the E1. Two victories ensured that Renet now leads the rankings in the E1. Despite the home advantage, Ivan Cervantes was unable to take a podium place. The Spaniard who left a very strong impression in South America could not continue that line. But Cristobal Guerrero would make sure there was a Spaniard on the podium. He turned 3 on Saturdaye after Renet and Aubert. On Sunday he beat Salminen in the battle for 2e place. There was bad luck for Jean-François Goblet who did not score a single point.
E3: Nambotin confirms
Until this year, Christophe Nambotin was a rider who could ride very fast on a two-stroke enduro, but every now and then something appeared to stand between him and victory. This year, now on the KTM EXC300, Nambotin simply wipes out the competition. Or how else can you describe that 1min45 lead over ex-world champion David Knight on Saturday? With a 3e and a 2e place, Ljungren is the only other rider on the podium.
