VIDEO: Monster Energy Speedway GP New Zealand.
Last weekend the Speedway World Championship started with the New Zealand GP in Auckland. The Western Springs stadium, a natural amphitheater containing a sprint car circuit, was the venue.
New Zealand had a strong speedway tradition in the 60s and 70s with names such as Barry Briggs and Ivan Mauger as its best-known exponents. But in 2012, the country seems devoid of great speedway talent. It was Britain's Jason Bunyan, 7-time New Zealand speedway champion – who defended the black and white Kiwi colors at Western Springs.
In the video below you can watch the highlights as well as the semi-finals and finals of the New Zealand Speedway GP.
