Roelants and Searle about Bulgaria
With a double series victory, the Floride Moto Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit team dominated the Bulgarian MX2 GP. Joël Roelants and Tommy Searle shared the heat victories, but it was the Brit who won the GP. Below are their reactions after Sevlievo.
Tommy Searle, GP winner (3-1) – World Championship standings: 2e with 87 points
“My Kawasaki is now even faster than last year. I had no problem getting the holeshot in both motos. That always makes the races a little easier and I was unlucky not to take a double series victory this weekend. We're still not sure how it happened, but at one point in the first moto I found myself without a front brake. I had to change my lines, which was not easy on a circuit with so many steep descents. But I only lost two places and knew that a win in the second moto was enough to take the GP win.”
Joël Roelants, third (1-4) – World Cup standings: 3e with 85 points
“I had never achieved a good result on this circuit before. But this team and the bike are just great. I was quickly behind Tommy in the first moto and so I could follow his lines. We were able to make a gap on the rest of the pack. We have a good understanding and help each other during training. When he had a problem I was able to take the lead and win the moto. I was also able to achieve a good result in the second heat and end the day on the podium.”
