De Dycker replaces Nagl at Red Bull-KTM!
The Red Bull-KTM Factory Racing Team, led by Claudio De Carli, announced today that it has reached an agreement with Ken De Dycker. The 27-year-old De Dycker will replace the injured Max Nagl in the official KTM MX1 team during the first five GPs. Nagl will be sidelined for at least the first five games due to a back injury. So 'Keeno' becomes the teammate of the current MX1 world champion Antonio Cairoli. The Belgian will compete on the KTM SX-F 450. Nagl is expected to make his return during the French GP.
Last year De Dycker, who has won 5 GPs in his career so far, finished a disappointing 11th in the MX1 World Championship. The Lubbeken native injured his neck during the GP of Limburg, which forced him to miss three Grand Prix. Now he wants to take sporting revenge. In 2003 he made his debut among the big boys on KTM, the MTM Racing Team of Ludo Vanderveken.
Ken Dycker: “This is a dream come true! I am very grateful to KTM, Claudio and his right hand Bengt Vanvelthoven for this opportunity. Red Bull-KTM is the best team in the world, now it's up to me to show what I can do. There is little time to adapt to the bike, but I am ready. Fortunately, Valkenswaard is also a circuit that suits me and being able to defend the KTM colors is the best motivation I could wish for!”
