Two out of two for Bobryshev in ONK Halle!
After his victory in Oss, Evgeny Bobryshev (Honda World Motocross) continued his momentum today at the Kappenbulten in Halle. The Russian won the two heats. Ken De Dycker finished second twice, each time ahead of Rui Gonçalves. Dutch champion Herjan Brakke finished fourth (4+6) in the final standings.
Bobryshev actually dominated all day in Halle because he had already taken pole in the morning. Bobby was 1,2 seconds faster than De Dycker during the timed training. Yet an unleashed De Dycker seemed to be on his way to victory in the first series. The fast Belgian was in the lead for a long time, but made many mistakes towards the end. This way Bobryshev was able to come back and ultimately win easily. The difference between Keeno and Gonçalves was also very big.
The second heat brought more spectacle. There were quite a few falls in the first round, including William Saris, who fell to the ground. Up front, Bobryshev was his strong self again. The sympathetic Russian rode from start to finish, but at the finish the difference with De Dycker was now about six seconds. Yentel Martens caught the spotlight with a nice catch-up race that he finished in 5th.
