Standouts SX Goes: Jarni, Max, Nancy, Nolan
The Goes Supercross is always a fun competition to discover new talent. Anyone who does not follow the youth competitions closely will have their nose right on the action in Zeeland and will get a good idea of the technical qualities of the talents of tomorrow. As young riders, Steve Ramon, Marc De Reuver, Ken De Dycker, Rinus Van De Ven, Kevin Strijbos, Jeremy Van Horebeek, Max Anstie and Jeffrey Herlings, among others, had great weather there. In recent days we were also introduced to new blood in the Zeelandhallen.
– Up Arrowsnelle Kawasaki made the 11 year old Jarni Kooij big impression. Kooij, who will ride the ADAC in 2012, won the three series of the 85cc small wheels. Jarni has excellent timing and clearly has enough courage to compete with the best in spectacular SX work. Young Belgians in the 85cc small wheels also finished second and third Iago Geerts en Bo De Clerq.
-No Rinus Van de Ven on the bike, but follow-up is assured! Sister Nancy VanDeVen (14) got the crowd on their feet by winning the second heat for the ladies with her 85cc against Nicky Van Wordrager and Marianne Veenstra, among others. Nancy has everything it takes to become a great one: strength, technique and courage.
– Also present again was the little blonde cannonball Max Pedersen. Just like in Venray, this Danish boy of eight stunned the audience with his control, great jumps and excellent technique. Max dominated the three rounds of 50cc machines, recording lap times that were just a few tenths of a second above those of the 65cc small wheels! Kay Karssemakers (7) also did excellently in the Zeelandhallen. Kay came second after Pedersen and will continue to compete on the 65cc small wheels this season (so switch gears!). Anyone who wants to see him at work can see Kay riding in the KNMV, MON youth competitions and the club competitions in Oirschoten and Rosmalen.
- Nolan Cordens (12) finished 3rd in Venray but managed to brilliantly win the three series at the 85cc Grote Wielen in Goes. Nolan is having a lot of fun during the indoor competitions and that is noticeable. Of course it also helps that the young guy has his own SX training track available! This season we see Nolan at work in the BMB, ADAC, European Championships and of course also in the Netherlands.
– In the 65cc Big Wheels the young Englishman made Dylan Woodcock (12) the nice weather. Woodcock rides a Cobra, is also regularly seen in British SX races (he became British Supercross champion last year) and has already traveled to the US to train.
– Another regular guest at the front during the indoor competitions is the young Belgian Jarne Bogaerts. Jarne won in Goes in the 65cc small wheels. Just like in Venray, the young Limburger knocked Jeroen Bussink (Dutch 50cc champion in 2010) who rode his first season on the 65cc small wheels last season.
