Completely Belgian line-up for the Kemea-Reytec-Yamaha Racing team
After a successful debut at European level in 2011, the Kemea-Reytec-Yamaha Racing team also has ambitions in the world championship in 2012. Belgian MX2 champion Kevin Fors and 22-year-old Kenny Vandueren will make their debut in the MX2 World Championship next season. 13-year-old Nathan Renkens and Ludovic Brevers will compete in the European Championship 125cc and the European Championship 250cc respectively in the colors of the Limburg team.
On a national level, Nick Van de Berg and Kevin van Geldorp will compete in the national MX2. Steven Engelen will compete with the big boys at the Inters MX1 in the Belgian Championship and the Belgian Nationals. In the BK MX2, Fors and Vandueren will also have a shot at the Belgian title.
To ensure all this runs smoothly, former vice world champion Marnicq Bervoets will guide the pilots both physically and mentally at international level. Danny De Baets will assist Marnicq in this and will also examine the national riders. Together they also keep their eyes open in the search for new talent.
Team owner Hans Corvers: 'I am proud of my all-Belgian team. Even from a community perspective it is responsible with some Walloon riders in the team! Originally, the Kemea Reytec team was mainly active at a local level and only last year we switched to the BMB. Unforeseen, the European Championships came into our plans and we immediately put ourselves in the spotlight in Valkenswaard. All in all, the 'interim year' at this level was not too bad, but everyone agreed that structurally some things still needed to be more professional. My fellow villager Marnicq Bervoets agreed with the role of team manager and actually came up with the idea that if we want to do it professionally, why not aspire to the MX2 World Championship? The decision was made and everyone is super motivated to take on this challenge. It will be especially important this year that the team lays the foundation for a professional team and then we will see what the future will bring! I would like to thank the entire Kemea board for this.'
Team manager Marnicq Bervoets: 'I'm really looking forward to guiding the drivers next season. However, I do not have any real expectations in terms of performance. They will all have to learn a lot this year and the most important thing is that they continue to work hard and make visible progress. We have two good talents, especially with the European Championship riders. I hope that they can make clear progress this year so that we can continue to build on this foundation next year.
The first race for the riders will be the Belgian opening cross on February 12 on the sandy circuit of the Heeserbergen in Lommel.
