Cedric Cremer wins BK Enduro final!
Cédric Cremer took the Scratch victory in Hautrage in the final of the BK Enduro. The KTM Belgium pilot booked his 3e overall win of the season. Due to the cancellation of the Maurage Enduro, the BK Enduro in Hautrage was held.
The Belgian Championship Final in the west of Hainaut consisted of 3 laps of 70 km. But as tradition would have it, there was also a final cross race at the end of the day.
At the Inters E1 could no longer escape the Belgian title Roel Verpoorten. Only 2 Inters E1 appeared at the start in Hautrage: Verpoorten and 'local hero' Tom Frison. The Yamaha rider came out on top in six of the seven specials. At the end, the Belgian E1 title beckoned for Verpoorten.
In the premier class of the BK Enduro, the BK Final was a prestige battle between Jean-François Goblet en Cedric Cremer out. The D'Ieteren Sport Yamahadriver had good cards to win the title at the Inters E2 as to win the scratch title. But beating Cremer was not an option for Goblet. The Liège resident was able to rely on his motocross experience on the sandy surface of Hautrage. This resulted in four victories in the Specials, with Cremer clearly leaving Goblet behind each time. The two remaining Specials fell prey to Goblet. The only E2 rider who could stay close to Cremer and Goblet was Bob Van Looveren. In the last race on his two-stroke Suzuki, Van Looveren finished third.
Husaberg Belgium rider Wim Vanderheyden took victory in Hautrage at the Inters E3. The AMC Dworp driver had to drive four of the six Specials Kevin Gauniaux to tolerate. But Vanderheyden made the difference with Gauniaux in the other two Specials. That Vanderheyden performed well in Hainaut is also evident from his 3e place in the Scratch leaderboard.
