BK Enduro: Goblet wins, Van Looveren impresses
Only 16 Belgian Inters and a Dutch guest driver had the move to Mons made. Bee ASA Mons, the organizer of the Enduro, they had done their best. In addition to the extensive special, in which the best Inters managed to stay just under 9 minutes, a spicy connection was also set up. A connection that was only 57 km, but still took quite some time due to the many crawling and shortcuts. So much so that the race management canceled the fifth round. Not an unnecessary luxury because most Inters were in the saddle for about 8 hours.
This was evident from the start of the day Jean-François Goblet had come to Mons for sporting revenge after last year's difficult match. And whether that happened. The only one who could stay close to Goblet was Kevin Gauniaux. Towards the end, the eldest of the two brothers was even able to keep pace with Goblet on the Special. But then the race was already over.
The special was quite difficult, because army tanks had been driven over it in the run-up to the match. Nevertheless, ASA Mons had done their best to remove the wet spots as much as possible. As a result, the sandy aspect of 'burned wood' float to the top. A bit of fun Bob Van Looveren. With his relatively light 250cc two-stroke engine, the Wuustwezel native managed to stay in the top 5 for a whole day. The driver of AMC Wuustwezel would 4e became general and achieved his best performance to date in the BK Enduro.
Roel Verpoorten again did a good job with a view to the title in the E1. The HM Hondadriver again identified his nearest attacker Charles-Antoine Allegra to keep behind. However, the win in the lightest class went to Adrien Vandommele. The MB Racing TMdriver outclassed his classmates and rode like a madman through 'le bois brûlé'.
In E3 it seemed Wim Vanderheyden initially have good cards. During the second passage on the special, the Husaberg Belgiumdriver even the 3e record time. Unfortunately, Vanderheyden came during the 3e to stop at the connection for a round. Far from civilization, the Brabander had to discover that a branch had pierced his radiator. Victory in E3 logically went to Kevin Gauniaux. The two remaining E3 drivers, Fraselle and Lamberty, were no match for the Gas Gas driver.
