BK leader Simpson about Orp
In Orp-le-Grand it wasn't there yet, but more than likely LS will take Honda Racing's Shaun Simpson within four weeks in Mont-Saint-Guibert the overall victory in the Lotto Trophy.
However, on the flanks circuit on the edge of the Walloon Brabant village, Simpson never played for the victory. The Briton already seemed to be driving around with the Belgian title at the Inters Open in mind. With a 5th and two 4th places in the heats, Simpson ultimately just missed the podium.
"It could have been better. In principle I should have fought for a podium place here today. In addition to Christophe Pourcel and Jeffrey Herlings, Davide (Guarneri) was also very strong. Maybe then fourth place was where I belonged” Simpson said afterwards. The Scot also explained his slightly inferior performance: “I don't want to apologize, but I had been sick all week and that certainly bothered me."
The LS Honda Racing rider also looked ahead to the final of the Lotto Trophy that will be held on September 25. “Hopefully I can win the Belgian Championship during the last round in Mont-Saint-Guibert. That's a great way to end the season on a high!” Simpson concluded.
