BK Enduro: great competition in Dorinne
The UK Enduro started his second half of the season on Sunday with the Enduro from Dorinne, an organization of the MC Dinant. The route of this enduro was not completely new because it was largely the same as that of the old Enduro of Evrehailles. The special behind the Dinant hospital was also retained.
The big novelty was a special in a valley in Dorinne. A special that was certainly appreciated by the riders because some dared to call it a test from an EWC round.
At the Inters E1 in the Belgian Championship, quality takes precedence over quantity. Only 5 E1 riders were at the start in Dorinne, but the young one left Adrien Vandommele notice the most. After the 1e round led the MB Racing TM-rider it Scratch Leaderboard. Surprising? Not really, Vandommele already showed great things during the ISDE in Finland. Vandommele would eventually be disqualified due to missing a time out of 5e special.
Not only the specials but also the connecting stages would be decisive during this Enduro of Dorinne. The route partly takes you over rocky paths that had become very slippery due to the previous rainfall. A crash on such a path almost always led to material damage.
One of the victims was Bob Van Looveren who had to be put aside with a broken gear. Until then, the Wuustwezel native had managed to maintain himself in the top 5 of the E2 class. The winner of the E2 was again Jean-François Goblet. The D'Ieteren Sport Yamahadriver may gradually start thinking about a new Belgian title. KTM Belgium-driver Cedric Cremer made his comeback in Dorinne and did so with a nice third place behind Michael Vukcevic.
At the Inters E3 had to Wim Vanderheyden settle for a 3e place behind Kevin Gauniaux en Thierry Klutz. After a crash on the fourth special, Vanderheyden had lost quite a few seconds and had to chase in the four remaining stages.
Roel Verpoorten had to be in the lightest Inters class Frédéric Gauniaux to tolerate but the HM Hondadriver nevertheless did a good thing. On the slippery rocks, Verpoorten's trial experience played to his advantage. The Flemish Brabander stayed that way Charles-Antoine Allegra for the daily rankings. In the BK standings, Verpoorten increased his lead over Allegra. With four games to go, Verpoorten now has 27 points more than the Namur player.
