Australian off-road market on the rise!
De FCAI (Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries), so to speak, the Australian counterpart of Febiac or for Rai, recently released sales figures for the first six months of 2011. This shows that the Australian motorcycle market is in the elevator. A total of 50.379 motorcycles were sold from January to June. That is approximately 1501 more than during the same period in 2010. Off-road motorcycles represent approximately 30% (15.268 motorcycles) of total sales. In addition, another 10.544 quads were sold. The off-road segment is clearly on the rise as no fewer than 7 of the 10 best-selling motorcycles were off-roaders.
Below are the respective Top 5 of the best-selling cross and enduro motorcycles in Australia during the first half of the year. The enduro segment in Australia also includes trails and initiation bikes. The honor of best-selling dirt bike went to the Honda CRF50F of which no fewer than 694 units were sold.
