ISDE 2011: The Netherlands strong, Belgium without a chance
On day 2 of the IS THE Finnish hegemony was unstoppable. Once again he turned out to be an E1 driver Eero Remes to be the mainstay of the home team. Remes shot the first time on 5 of the seven specials. Impressive. The Finns therefore remain firmly in the saddle as leaders in the World Trophy-rankings. The Spanish confirmed again on Tuesday and therefore remain at 2. The Australians on the other hand, today tumbled from 3e to the 8e place. The strong performance of Kurt caselli (in the intro photo), who won the day's victory in E2, helped the Americans at the 3e place in the standings.
The Netherlands is making leaps forward
Also the Dutch are now doing well. Hans Vogels finished 9e in E2, Ralph Hubers was 17e in E1. Amel Lawyer en Mark Wassink were 12 respectivelye in 13. e in 3. With these strong results, the Dutch are taking a leap forward in the World Trophy standings. After day 2, the Dutch were 6the classified. So the top 5 may be possible.
Over and out for Team Belgium.
Before the start, the Belgians already received bad news. Despite the intervention of the International Jury Jerome Martiny his driver's license back. And that meant that the Motosport Lejeune Husqvarnarider was done with his Six Days.
Also Bob Van LooverenThe ISDE would not last long. The Wuustwezel resident got stuck in a mud hole. The help of Pierre Schmits could not help because Van Looveren would ultimately lose about two hours and arrive outside time. Kopman Jean-François Goblet I had to deal with a broken chain but it arrived within time. Nevertheless, it is allowed Team Belgium the ambitions of a decent ranking in the World Trophy are finally shelved after today.
Adrien Vandommele (24e in E1) and Wim Vanderheyden (21e in E3) were also left out and were able to save the Belgian honor to some extent. You can find a daily report from Vanderheyden here.
