Van Daele and Foguenne with wild card in GP Limburg
Marvin Van Daele and Eric Foguenne are the Belgian wild card riders for the GP of Limburg next weekend. Kevin Wouts, who had also expected a wild card, unfortunately missed out.
Van Daele's candidacy had been an open secret for some time. Van Daele had a strong season in the Lotto Trophy with an 8th place in the standings. Moreover, it performs Smarry the position in the Challengers Trophy, the championship for Inters that takes place in the context of the Belgian Nationals takes place. However, the postman from Mol will have to do without his trusted number 22 in Lommel because Kevin Strijbos competes with that number in the GPs. The Honda rider will therefore wear the number 60. In a interview with MXMag.be Earlier this month, Van Daele indicated that the wild card for the GP is the crowning achievement of his season and that he especially wants to enjoy it.
Also Eric Foguenne from Beaufays will have to do without his familiar driving number in Lommel. The 20-year-old from Liège is in 11th place in the standings after four rounds in the Lotto Trophy. The Suzuki rider joins his buddy for his first MX1 GP Jeremy Delince. Foguenne's participation makes that four this weekend Walloon riders compete in an MX1 GP and that has never happened before. Moreover, three out of four Walloon drivers come from the province Luik, the motocross stronghold of yesteryear. Foguenne competes in Lommel with row number 128.
Kevin Wouts, who managed to score points in the German GP, missed out on a wild card for his home GP. The Hoboken resident was very disappointed on Tuesday evening because he had even found an occasional sponsor for this GP. Wouts is working on a strong national campaign in Germany where he is working for the Pfeil Kawasakiteam comes out.
