Preview: Federation Cup Pole
New in motocross land is the “FEDERATION CUP FAM 2011”, held over three organizations. These will take place on June 4 & 5 at the beautiful Marnicq Bervoets circuit in Paal in the province of Limburg, on June 25 & 26 in Tielt in West Flanders, and on October 22 & 23 in Overslag in the province of East Flanders close to the Dutch border.
The first weekend for this Federation Cup we will be guests on June 4 & 5 in Paal-Buiting, a sub-municipality of the city of Beringen. This is an organization of Mc De Paalse Crossers in collaboration with VBM and VBM Youth, the Sports Council and Beringen City Council, the Police and Red Cross.
This Federation Cup is a replacement for the well-known FAM championship, which until last year was always organized by and with the various affiliated federations. The big difference with the previous FAM championships is that the Fam Federation Cup 2011 will be an OPEN Championship in which ANYONE can participate, including NON-FAM annual permit holders, and that no prior registration is required.
For the Federation Cup on Sunday, everyone can register either on Saturday evening or Sunday morning in the large party tent upon presentation of their ANNUAL PERMITS 2011 or on the basis of a DAY PERMITS. When registering, participants receive a bib number and three motorcycle numbers for free, making it particularly pleasant for spectators to follow the races. These spectators will be pampered on both Saturday and Sunday. At the start of the competitions, a pilot list per category will be available on the three jury buses of MCLB and VBM on both Saturday and Sunday, so that people can follow the competitions perfectly. When entering the circuit, supporters are offered a free program, together with a support card, which is valid for the entire weekend. Young people under 15 years old can enter for free.
The car parks will open on Friday 3 June from 16 pm. The site will be easily accessible for pilots and spectators, from the Antwerp-Liège motorway - exit Paal/Beringen - follow the signs to the Marnicq Bervoets circuit where the beautiful meadow car parks will be made available to everyone.
ANYONE CAN REGISTER AND PARTICIPATE
Renners park open from Friday 3 June 2011 at 16pm, closed from midnight to 24am. Registration in the large party tent on Saturday, June 06 from 4:20 PM to 30:21 PM and on Sunday, June 30 from 5:7 AM to 9:2011 AM. Pilots must register upon presentation of their 4 license pass. As already mentioned, the pilot will be assigned a starting number at the registration table where he (or she) will receive the necessary self-adhesive engine numbers and bib number for FREE (supplied with 14 safety pins to on the back of their jersey). Anyone from the age of 18 can participate, taking into account the sports regulations for under-2011 year olds, including leisure and hobby riders, experts, masters and all official categories. Non-FAM members on the basis of a day permit in the category where they belong, they appear in the daily classification but do not receive any expense reimbursement and they cannot participate in the classification of the Fam-Federation-Cup XNUMX.
Mandatory exercises on Sunday, June 5 from 8 am. Machine inspection on Sunday from 7:45 am to 10 am. The pointage will be done in two ways, with transponders by VBM and manually by the well-known pointage team MCLB.
The mandatory training on Sunday starts at 8 am with the Promised Riders, furthermore the Newbies mx2 & mx1/3A & mx1/3B & mx1/3c, the Quads, Leisure Riders, Juniors mx2 & mx1/3, the Nationals, Internationals and the Sidecars. The official start with the first series of the Beloften at 10:25 am and the end of the program, which includes no fewer than 2 x 12 series, just before 19 pm.
A look at the favorites
It is of course dangerous and daring to put forward a few favorites per category, not knowing whether they will actually participate or are injured. Still an attempt based on their better results in recent weeks...
Among the Beloften, of course, Gilles Tack and Tim Vandriessche from mclb against Glenn Uten and Nicolas Adams from vbm. In the newcomers mx2 I dare to move forward Nicky Vermoesen and Tjorven Van Den Bergh from mclb and look forward to Jory Cooman and Roy Van Montfort from vbm. In group A Christof De Baets from mclb, in group B Kristof Van Heck mclb and Geladi Olivier vbm, in group C Andy Baele mclb and Dimitri Vertenten vbm.
In the Juniors MX2 it will be a hard battle and spectacle as usual, with perhaps in the foreground Jens Van Meer, Ricky Goossens, Witse Hermans and possibly Francis Geldhof and Damon Noyelle and Nils Bleyaert from mclb against Denis Janssen, Ken Craeghs and Glenn Nys from vbm. In the Juniors mx1/3 there are very few favorites with Stef Goetheer of mclb in the lead, although one always has to take old chap Marc Dewilde into account, and they are up against Robin Nys, the big favorite at vbm.
The hope of the Nationals mx1/3 at mclb is mainly carried by Niki De Bruyne and will probably find Dave Coeckaerts from vbm on his way there. In the MX2 class, the MCLB supporters hope most for Jorne Tytgat and at VBM for Francois Vanhoenacker and Yorick Van Camp and why not for old acquaintance Nick Van den Bergh.
It is certainly a fact that there are fireworks in the air at the Internationals, knowing full well that one of them from MCLB is out for revenge for the lost FAM title of last season due to bad luck and cancellation. You know, dear reader, who I mean... of course Steve Seronval from mclb, but his fellow federations will also make their presence felt, such as Jurgen Wybo and David Vantornout, and perhaps also Jaimy Deleersnijder, it's a pity that Torpjurn Van Hoe is not participating. (his sister's communion party)! At vbm they are probably looking forward to Filip Van Dijck, Yoann Hella, Steve Piret, Jimmy Huysmans, Jan Laureyssen, Roel Geurts and Mike Vanderstraeten, all with a big question mark behind their names! At the mx2 Kenny Dult and Neal Deconinck from mclb although there are still a few, and from vbm a certain Marco Stallman and Michael Velkeneers? And in the group Inters B with mclb Junior Decouter, Kevin Vanmassenhove and Dennis Van Hul who have occupied the podium in recent weeks and with vbm Junior Slegers, Christophe Montant and others such as Tom Steensels.
It is now up to the boys who cannot find their name here to prove us wrong and put things in order... good luck to everyone and have fun racing!
