Lotto Trophy: Ramon demonstrates in Tongeren!
In Tongeren the riders were presented with a completely new circuit on the Driekruisenweg, but the audience saw an old-fashioned strong Steve Ramon! The Bomb was clearly the strongest with two victories and a third place. Ken De Dycker (2-1-5) finished second ahead of Davide Guarneri (3-3-7). De Dycker did a great job in the standings as arch-rival Desalle was injured and scored zero points. De Dycker is now BC leader with 241 points; Desalle follows on 25 points, Shaun Simpson is third with 209 points.
In the day's standings, Jeremy Van Horebeek and Marvin Van Daele were the heroes of the day with a shared fifth place. The Jerre's first match in the context of his comeback turned out to be an immediate success! Van Daele performed at a high level all day long. Smarry's highlights were a deserved 4th place in the opener and a brilliant catch-up race in the second series.

Great day for The Bomb
Lead starter Steve Ramon made good use of his fast start. The two-time world champion was quickly able to create a gap between Guarneri and De Dycker. Ramon - clearly the fastest on the hilly old-school circuit - rode unthreatened to victory. Simpson and Desalle had a bad start, but the two made a nice catch-up race. Simpson finished 7th. A few laps before the end, Desalle made a mistake on the jump before the finish and crashed together with Van Horebeek. The Suzuki factory rider was injured and gave up, although there is currently no clarity about wine injury. The returning Van Horebeek finished 5th. De Dycker had to continue until the finish to hold off Guarneri.

Despite Desalle's absence, the second heat was a nice spectacle with many position changes and a high pace. The holeshot went to Kevin Strijbos ahead of Ramon. Both Suzuki pilots fought for the lead in the initial phase, but a crash by Ramon gave Strijbos the lead. De Dycker now really gained steam and pushed to the front while Strijbos tumbled off a little later. Ramon recovered well from his fall, from fifth place he managed to reach De Dycker's wheel! However, the LS Honda leader is doing a perfect job in the championship with his first victory of the day. After an exciting final sprint, a driven Van Daele narrowly loses out to Shaun Simpson.

Ramon took the holeshot in the decisive race, but Simpson became the first leader. Once again the pace was high and Ramon once again had the best credentials. After the West Flemish passed Simpson, he systematically increased his lead. Simpson did come under pressure from teammate De Dycker, but he managed to retain second place. De Dycker even had to release the role in the ultimate phase of the match. Both the strong Van Horebeek and Strijbos went over De Dycker.
