Honda World Motocross about the French GP
It took a while, but we finally got them: the quotes from the Honda World Motocross riders. Below is their account of Saint-Jean d'Angély.
Evgeny Bobryshev (6-5)
“Often my second moto is better than the first and actually I don't know why that is. This has always been a difficult track for me, it's just not my kind of track. The bends with a shoulder, where you cannot slide, are simply very treacherous. There are also many gullies with bumps in them. In the first moto I had a good start but I couldn't find the right rhythm. In the second moto I took the holeshot and tried to stay with Desalle. Towards the end the bright sun bothered me. I was sweating from just about every pore of my body and counting down the laps. Then Rui passed me. I have gained experience here, now we have to look ahead and continue to give the best.”
Rui Goncalves (14-4)
“These were two very different heats due to two different starts. In the first moto I messed up. When the 15 second sign went up, my fork clip (holeshot device, ed.) came loose. I had to get off the bike to tighten it back up. Then there were only 5 seconds to go and I lost focus and completely missed my start. I had difficulty finding the right tracks and just didn't ride well. It couldn't have been better than fourteenth. The second moto was definitely different. I could handle the speed of the top players and if I am in such a position I can maintain that. I can imagine that it looks to bystanders as if someone else is sitting on that Honda! It was not easy to overtake on this circuit. But I still managed to pass Bobryshev. That fourth place was good and now my home GP is coming up.”
