Lotto Trophy Paddock Talk: Beervelde
Beautiful ladies: Perhaps you received a flyer from MXM's “MX vs ATV Alive” competition in Beervelde from one of the Motorcycle world-ladies. If this was not the case, check as quickly as possible our competition page. "
Thin rinse: Only 23 Inters at the start of training in the Lotto Trophy. Admittedly there are a lot of injured people and some Belgian riders had obligations in the ONK. But still, both VMCF and VLM did not have a match this weekend, but only a few Inters from the UMC associations found their way to Beervelde.
Thin Rinse II: Things could have turned out differently. For example, RES Axel had originally submitted a request to the KNMV to organize an ONK competition on Queen's Day. At only 30 km as the crow flies from Beervelde, both races could have been a perfect match. But the KNMV apparently did not think an ONK in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen was necessary.
Endurist: Motorsport Future coach Joël Smets will get on the bike again next weekend. In Buzancy, France, he will start in the 4the round of the Belgian Enduro Championship. The five-time motocross world champion has a mini-deal with Husqvarna importer Moto Mondo that 4e enduro competitions in the Benelux. Smets starts in Buzancy on a Husky TE 449 at the Inters E2. Later this year, Smets will probably ride the Esneux Enduro.
Scarcity: Lots of people, but also lots of sun on the banks of the sand extraction lake. And that made the people thirsty. To quench that thirst, a lot of drink was needed. So much so that the party tent had to be restocked around 16 p.m. The scarcity was even greater at the drinks stands along the circuit because even before the second series of the Radson Trophy they ran out of Jupiler supplies.
Ache: No Stijn Verstrepen in the 3e round of the Lotto Trophy. The rider from the LS Honda Racing Support team suffered from painful forearms. A problem that will be resolved this week through a surgical procedure by Dr. Show Claes.
Pain II: By the way, Verstrepen's teammate Damon Govaerts is not faring much better. The rider from Peulis recently broke his right thumb in a crash in a VMCF race.
Return visit: As you already are MXM column Ken De Dycker went to support buddy Sven Verbrugge during the opening race for the Sidecar Cross World Championships in Oss. Verbrugge, who leads the World Cup standings together with Daniël Willemsen, took advantage of a rare free Sunday to come and support Keeno in his turn.
