World Championship Sidecar Cross: Hendrickx-Smeuninx win first GP
Sven Verbrugge had already tipped them last week as co-favorites for the Sidecar Cross World Championships and Jan Hendrickx and Tim Smeuninx fully lived up to that role yesterday. The Antwerp duo won the Dutch GP Sidecar Cross in Oss. Hendrickx-Smeuninx won the first series and only needed a third place in the second to ensure victory. The victory in the second series went to the Latvian brotherly couple Janis and Lauris Daiders, who finished second overall. Jan and Jeroen Visscher became the best Dutchmen with a third place in the final standings. Joris Hendrickx-Kaspars Liepins finished fourth. Daniël Willemsen and Sven Verbrugge were disqualified after refueling on the circuit in the first heat. More in the report below from Studio Sport of the NOS.
