Radson Trophy MX2: Mons was Dutch for a moment
The circuit of le Bois brûlé may be located in the south of the country, but it still shows many similarities with a typical Dutch sand track. No wonder that the Dutch delegation in the Radson Trophy felt at home in Mons. Best sand hare was Mark Boot. This year, De Zeeuw is riding in Belgian service with MC Mikkola and has been a BMB license holder for years. Two years ago, Boot also surprised during the opening match in Beervelde. Boot took the lead in both series and won each time with a nice lead over Mike Kras. The rider from the Beursfoon Suzuki team made his return in Mons after having surgery on his forearms earlier this month. Julien Lieber managed to score 3 in the first seriese then he could not repeat that performance in the revival. Lieber had to chase after a crash at the start and would eventually throw in the towel. Third place went to Jens Getteman. Marnicq Bervoets' group came back from 22nd place after a bad start.
The final podium of the first Radson Trophy MX2 round turned completely orange with Mark Boot, Mike Kras and Jeffrey Meurs. A sign of the future for Belgian drivers? At the Nationals MX2, who will also ride together with the Inters in the Radson Trophy this year, the overall victory went to David Foguenne. The Liège native was the strongest in both series and preceded Sven Roelandt and Bjorn Blauwers on the podium.
