Injury news from Tony Cairoli
MX1 world champion Cairoli fell short during a jump in the first heat in Sevlievo and had to put his left foot down. The whipmaster injured his knee. However, the first diagnosis from sports surgeon Toon Claes turned out to be quite encouraging. Tony's cruciate ligaments are intact. The patellar tendon, the connection between the kneecap and the shinbone, and the cartilage were hit. Initially, Cairoli will receive intensive physio treatments, he is not allowed to train with the motorcycle for a week, but in principle he would simply appear at the start in Valkenswaard. To be sure, Tony will undergo another MRI scan.
Valkenswaard has always been an excellent GP for the Italian in the past. He has already won twice and been on the podium three times.
