BK Enduro 2011: Preview Saint-Hubert
From 1e Sunday in May has been the fixed date for the Enduro of Saint-Hubert. The competition was originally organized in memory of the May 1998 in Monza crashed road racer Michael Pacquay. Over the years she has emerged as one of the most beautiful in the Belgian Championship. Some even say that the Enduro of Saint-Hubert is the Queen's Test on the BC calendar.
On Sunday, the Inters will have four rounds of 60 km. The tour is largely on paths (about 55 km). St. Hubert. There are two specials per round. A curvy special in line Arville, about 5 km from the start. The second special, a mix of forest and meadow, can be found on the road to Pitch about two kilometers from the start.
The Inters are mainly looking forward to the prestige match in the scratch match Jean-François Goblet (in the intro photo) and Cedric Melotte. Can Goblet, probably the best Belgian endurist of the past decade, prevent Melotte from establishing himself as the new patron?
In the lightest Inter class, the battle for the Belgian title seems to be taking place between two ex-motocross riders and a former trialist. Rookie Charles-Antoine Allegra (47 pts.) leads with a 2-point lead Tom Frison. Third place in the standings belongs to Flemish Brabander Roel Verpoorten (40 pts.)
Among the big guns of the E2 are Jean-François Goblet and Cedric Cremer matched for the time being. Both Liège players share the lead with 47 points behind their names. They have a little gap Michael Vukcevic (Sherco), who in turn adds a four-point lead Jérôme Martiny. Fifth place is up for grabs Bob Van Looveren. Not bad for a rookie in the Interklasse, who is only in his second enduro season. Also a former amateur motocross star Christophe Descamps seems to refocus his sporting career in Enduro. In Flavius he immediately turned 6e , curious to see how he will develop further in the coming weeks and months.
In E3, BK promoter leads Thierry Klutz (45 pts.) just ahead Kevin Gauniaux. Wim Vanderheyden follows 7 points from Klutz. This trio will undoubtedly have to deal with one Cédric Melotte in Saint-Hubert.
