Back motocross in Grobbendonk
After a year's break, Grobbendonk is once again organizing a motorcross event on Sunday, April 3. After the opening race of the BMB motocross season took place for the last time in 2009, it became quiet on the Kanaaldijk. A long tradition of motocross competitions came to an end in which VLM, VMCF, BMB, Fam-Finales and even a real triple GP were discussed. In addition, the Kempen municipality also produced talent such as Joël Roelants, Dennis Verbruggen and Gerry Van Den Brande. Two years later, a group of young enthusiastic motocross enthusiasts picked up the thread again. This time under the banner of the VMCF. But there are many parallels with the previous organizations. The competition takes place in the same Industrial Park. The driving force behind MX Grobbendonk is Dennis Dierckx. The former Belgian MX2 champion was born into organizing motocross competitions. In the 90s, father René and MC Grobbendonk expanded the site on the Kanaaldijk into one of the most beautiful Belgian motocross tracks.
