World Championship X-Trial Marseille: Bou wins again
There was also no stopping Toni Bou during the second round of the X-Trial World Championships in Marseille. The Montesa rider dominated the event in the French port city. However, not everything went smoothly for Montesa. In the sprint race between the two Montesa riders, Bou and Fujinami, the Japanese crashed hard. Fujinami was able to walk out of the arena, but had to be taken to hospital with a neck injury. However, the Repsol-Montesa rider was fired on Sunday morning.
French wild-card rider Loris Gubian failed to qualify for the main program. Beta drivers Jack Challoner and James Dabill also had to pack after qualifying.
The second part of the match turned out to be Toni Bou's way once again. The Catalan was especially impressive on the rock section with the water tank and further expanded his lead over the competition. New Ossa rider Jeroni Fajardo disappeared from the race after the semi-final, together with Michael Brown.
Fujinami's crash during his duel with Bou ensured that the podium once again became completely Spanish. Bou eventually won ahead of Raga and Cabestany.
