Aranda conquers Bercy on Saturday
After Barcia's dominance on Friday, it was one of Bercy's crowd favorites who took the victory on Saturday. 20-year-old Gregory Aranda beat Cedric Soubeyras and Kyle Chisholm in the final, finishing on the podium for the second time. Barcia was the strongest all evening, but a bad start and a crash forced him back to fifth place. Gautier Paulin took fourth place despite a sore back after his crash on Friday. Marvin Musquin took the best start in the final, but when he suddenly felt pain in his knee, he immediately left the circuit and headed to the hospital for a scan. Ken de Dycker finished in tenth place.
The evening ended on a low note after Charles Pages suffered a heavy fall in the freestyle. After his brother successfully performed the Volt Body Varial on Friday, he went for a front flip. This was only a few days after he had undergone shoulder surgery. He crashed hard and was immediately taken to hospital.
