Wharton replaces Roczen in Bercy
Ken Roczen's transition to KTM has already caused quite a stir. Even now, not everything has been cleared up. If Roczen rides in Bercy it would be on a Suzuki, they let Suzuki know in no uncertain terms because the young German has a contract until the end of December! However, KTM has made the decision not to let Ken ride in Paris. Roczen will prepare the SX championship in America at the request of Roger De Coster.
As a replacement for Roczen, the organization has recruited the American Blake Wharton. This means that there are a total of three Geico-Honda riders at the start in Bercy: Trey Canard, Justin Barcia and Blake Wharton. Wharton placed 5th in this year's SX Lites on the West Coast, last year he placed fourth on the East Coast and won in Saint-Louis. The 19-year-old Wharton will certainly want to make a good impression in Paris because he is trained by a Frenchman: Sébastien Tortelli.
