VLM leaves FAM and joins UMC
On its website, the VLM motocross federation announces that from 2011 they will sail under the flag of the UMC. In concrete terms, this means that the Antwerp-Limburg federation will turn its back on the FAM and will from now on take out insurance through the UMC. In practice, the practitioner will hardly notice this. VLM is also mentioning a return to the International level, something that an attentive listener will associate with a possible return to the IMBA championship.
The consequence of VLM's entry into the UMC is that VLM drivers can no longer compete in the FAM championship. VLM's withdrawal will undoubtedly have far-reaching consequences for the FAM championship. You can find the full statement from VLM and UMC Vlaanderen here.
