The Netherlands dominates EMXoN in Markelo!
Defending champion the Netherlands dominated the European MX Der Nations in Markelo today. On Saturday, the men of national coach Leon Giesbers took pole. Things were going well for the orange team from the first round onwards. Coldenhoff nicely repeated his victory from yesterday during the MX2 qualifying race, Ceriel finished second. Coldenhoff had a huge lead of almost 42 seconds at the finish! With the Belgians on four (Manuel Priem) and eight (Triest), they immediately had to chase. watch here the full results.
The second round also went almost perfectly for the Netherlands. De Reuver led from start to finish ahead of Tanel Leok. Coldenhoff was the first MX2 rider with a third place and thus secured the overall victory in the MX2! The 6de place of Jeremy Delincé and the 8th Nick Triest's place was decent, but the Italians also performed well despite the difficult conditions with a fifth place for Manuel Monni and a seventh place for Alessandro Lupino. The final combined MX1/Open series was actually a mandatory event for Holland. De Reuver regained the lead early and would not relinquish it. Leok came second again, the French sand specialist Milko Potisek came third. The surprising Dane Nicolaï Hansen finished fourth again, just like in series 2. The Danes (Nicolaj Larsen, Stefan Kjer Olsen and Nikolaï Hansen) climbed onto the podium in third place. Priem, Delincé and Triest were never in the running for the title and had to settle for silver. After a poor start, CKK came back nicely, the Yamaha-Van Beers rider finished sixth. The three orange riders also each won their class individually! Glenn and Ceriel can look for more team success next week together with Donny Baste Meijer in the Coupe de L'avenir in Angreau, Belgium!
